I'm Not the Best Dressed Person I Know

So it may seem strange for a fashionista to admit that she's not the best dressed person she knows but it's true! As I go about my daily life, I encounter people all the time who have a great sense of style and look amazing. I honestly don't make a comparison or judge myself against other people. I simply give credit where credit is due and compliment people as often as I can. Having said that, I DO believe that I am the best dressed ME. Personal style is about being comfortable with who you are, accepting your body as the incredible temple that it is, and presenting yourself as your best at all times.

One Tuesday morning...

Clothes don't have to be expensive to give a rich presentation of you. Personal style is more about your clothes having the right fit that best suits your body. It's a way to express who you are. It's your calling card and a part of that first, lasting impression. Exploring your sense of style doesn't mean you are dressed up all of the time. A casual look can make as much of an impact as a glamorous one. Great personal style does not have to be flashy... unless that's who you are. And that's the thing! Your style is as unique as you are.

I have loved clothes for almost as long as I've been wearing them. I like styling myself each day and find inspiration in many places. I feel good when I look good, but I feel like a rockstar when the teenagers at my school compliment me. For me, styling myself is a part of my self care. It's not as shallow or materialistic as some might think; I have styled myself when I barely had any clothes and I have styled myself from my own closet without buying new clothes. And I learned many years ago that how you are dressed affects your behavior and confidence.

Some things apply to everyone, stylish person or not. Your clothes should be clean and in good repair. They should honor your body and not betray it. Whether you wear the same clothes every week or you're not seen in the same clothes for 30+ days, your style is your choice.
